Us adults need to do better!

Recently I joined a Facebook group for maximalist design.

I posted the photos of our home.

I am completely aware that our home is not for everyone. We are very eccentric, colorful and we have a lot of odd things.

The one thing I've learned in the last 46 years is my home is my home, it is a place that my heart lives, a place that I feel safe and a place that I want the things that bring me and my husband joy surrounding us at all times.

Regardless of how weird the decor may seem to other people. I gave up the idea of trying to impress other people with what my home looks like years ago! And everyone who's ever came over to visit has always commented how fun and interesting our house, is whether it was a friend or the furnace guy or someone trying to sell us something, lol.

So I thought it would be fun and thought it was neat to find a group that may share my same Love of home decor.

I got a lot of beautiful amazing comments on the post but then I got a lot of hate and ugly comments on the post. As I sat there reading the comments, I realized that I don't have to be a part of a group where adults are mean to other adults and say such awful things about their home when they don't even know me or have even come over.

Yes of course I could ignore the comments and I did, I didn't respond to any of them because I was not going to give away my power to people who did not deserve it.

I so appreciate everybody on there that was defending me especially the people that don't know me. But I decided in that moment that I don't want to be a part of that type of energy where people are mean to other people, that's just not how I'm built and I'm definitely not going to spend my time and energy responding to them.

So I took a breath and I sent everyone who commented good energy, especially the ones that commented negatively because they must really need some good positive energy.

I deleted the post and took myself out of the group and went about my day!

Lesson, we do not have to feed other people's negativity regardless what they say about us we can send them good energy and delete them out of our lives and keep moving forward.

So excuse me while I go figure out which thrift stores I'm going to today, to find some more weird decorations for our crazy home!

Have a beautiful blessed day everyone, don't let anyone rob you of your peace no matter what they say! Don't give away your energy to those that don't deserve it. Because what they say has nothing to do with you, but everything to do with them.

P.s. We are the example of the younger generation. Just because something or someone is different doesn't make it a bad thing. In fact it makes it a very unique beautiful thing, and I honestly believe that we need more uniqueness in this world! Because it's through our uniqueness that we hold our power!
